Lincoln is the county seat of Lincoln County, Kansas. The community is served by Lincoln USD 298 public school district, which operates Lincoln Elementary School (Grades Pre-K-5) and Lincoln Junior/Senior High School (Grades 6-12).

In 2022, Lincoln issued an RFP to find a firm to help the district analyze and implement high-performance, energy-efficient improvements. ESP’s team, after a rigorous and competitive selection process, began by conducting a detailed analysis of the district’s needs and energy-saving opportunities. The district’s choice of ESP for the project is a testament to its capabilities.

ESP worked with the district to develop and implement a plan that included replacing existing lighting with LED lighting, improving the building envelope, and installing new windows. Additionally, they prioritized repairing doors throughout the district to enhance efficiency.

The project will save the district over $21,000 annually on utility and operating costs. The upgrades, which include replacing existing lighting with LED lighting, improving the building envelope, and installing new windows, have created a better learning and teaching environment for students and staff. ESP’s comprehensive upgrades cover all aspects of the facilities’ performance, ensuring a thorough and effective solution that also reduces long-term operational costs and supports the district’s sustainability goals.
